C5. Panel Notes

This is a roughly hemispherical boulder measuring about 0.8 x 0.5m and 25cm thick, with smoothed, rounded edges and a flat upper surface. The sides and top of the panel are cut by multiple plough marks of different lengths, some cutting across the motifs on the narrower, arched end of the boulder. The motif all give the appearance of being enclosed within a long, sub-circular groove like a cartouche. However this groove is actually comprised of a cup with a long curved radial, and a longer groove which braches at one end. There is a sub-rectangular groove, passing through a cup on one side of this long groove. The long groove encircles 2 cup and single ring motifs with conjoined rings, a cup with pennanular ring, a cup and arc ring, and 2 cups with radials. Tool marks are visible in the motifs and there are some random peck marks, as well as finer incisions from plough damage.

C6. Probability

The probability that there is any rock art on the panel is Definite
