On the W bank of the River Nairn, opposite the confluence with the River Farnack, is a SE facing slope of rough pasture with many boulders. This large earthfast boulder is about halfway up the slope, 50m N of Balnafoich 1 and 2. Balnafoich 4 is about 4m to the E.
The local name, Balnafoich, is mis-spelt on the OS 1:25k map as Balnaoich.

This panel measures 3.7m in length and is an irregular domed shape. The main surface rises gently to the E to a maximum of 0.8m. Close to the highest point of the panel 7 cup mark motifs have been carved into the surface.
