The panel is situated approximately 400m S of Stillaig farmhouse in area of wettish rough vegetation on the W edge of improved grazing ground and 1m E of Stillaig 1, on the same outcrop. It is low lying on gentle slope rising from the valley bottom, and about 100m SE of a fence line. Further to the E rises a hill currently topped by commercial timber plantation. Approximately 200m to the W is a gorse covered outcrop 150m long lying roughly NW. Stillaig 2 was originally recorded in the same Canmore record as Stillaig 1 (Canmore 39830, ScRAP 670).
